
Q: What are the fees?
A: In addition to the EPIC Club fees (currently $50 per year), each player pays an equal share of league and tournament fees which varies by team.
Q: What are the EPIC fees used for?
A: EPIC fees are used to offset field usage fees, administrative functions (e.g. postage, website hosting, etc), and other club-centric functions.
Q: Does EPIC have financial sponsors?
A: Currently, EPIC is searching for businesses and individuals that would be willing to help offset the cost of running the club and teams.
Q: Where do the teams play?
A: Again, this varies for each team. Due to a lack of adequate fields, we currently do not play in West Virginia. The leagues that EPIC teams participate in are in Virginia and Maryland. These include FCYSL, MSI, ODSL, and WAGS. Winter indoor leagues are in Germantown, Westminster, Frederick, and Winchester.
Q: What day of the week are the games played?
A: Most leagues play on Sunday. But, could play a Saturday game every once in a while.
Q: Where do the teams practice?
A: Again, this varies for each team. Right now we have teams practicing at the following locations: VA Center fields, Board of Education field in Charles Town, Tuscawilla Hills field in Charles Town, Harpers Ferry Middle School in Harpers Ferry and Country Day School in Charles Town.
Q: How often are practices?
A: At least 2 days a week and again this will differ from team to team.
Q: When do the seasons begin and end?
A: Fall practice begins in August and ends in November. If a team plays indoor soccer in the Winter, practice begins in October and end in March. Spring practice begins in March and ends in June.
Q: Does my child have to participate for the indoor season?
A: Indoor play is optional.
Q: What are the costs of uniforms or are they provided?
A: EPIC is currently working to purchase uniforms in bulk, these prices will be passed along to the player. We estimate no more than $75 per player for a basic uniform.
Q: Is playing time guaranteed for all players?
A: No. This is a competitive soccer program and playing time is not guaranteed. Most coaches will do
their best to get all players an equitable amount of playing time.
Q: Are EPIC Officials paid position?
A: No. We are an all volunteer organization, although teams in the past have elected to bring in a paid trainer. EPIC does not pay it's Board of Directors.
Q: How far do you travel?
A: Again, this varies by team. Most league games in the Fall and Spring are in the Northern VA,
Washington DC greater metropolitan area and are less than 2 hours away. Most tournaments are in the same locations. Some teams will do an overnight tournament or two during the season.
Q: In how many tournaments a year do the teams participate?
A: This also varies by team, but most teams play two in the Fall and two in the Spring.
